Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) invites online applications for situation vacant positions on regular/contract basis at its Main Campus and Regional Centers across Pakistan.

AIOU is one of the largest distance learning universities in the world, providing education services through its network of regional centers spanning Punjab, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, and Gilgit-Baltistan.

Eligibility Criteria

Eligibility shall be determined as per AIOU Services Statutes 1978 (amended up to 27th April 2026) and relevant applicable rules of the Government. Each position has specific qualification, experience, and age requirements.

Education Requirements

• Assistant Director Regional Services: 2nd Class Master's Degree or equivalent from HEC recognized university
• Research Assistant: 16 years of education (1st Class) or 2nd Class Graduation from HEC recognized university
• Data Entry Operator: Bachelor's Degree (2nd class) with computer application knowledge
• Staff Car Driver/Driver: Matric/Middle/Primary pass with valid HTV/PSV driving license
• Naib Qasid: Literate
• Regional Director/Additional/Deputy/Assistant Regional Director: 2nd Class Master's Degree from HEC recognized university
• Assistant: Second Class Bachelor's Degree
• Mali: Literate

Experience Requirements

• Assistant Director Regional Services: Relevant experience preferred in Govt./Semi-Govt./Autonomous Body
• Research Assistant: 04 years' relevant experience preferred in Govt./Semi-Govt./HEC recognized institution
• Data Entry Operator: Experience in relevant field preferable, minimum 10,000 key depressions per hour
• Staff Car Driver to VC: 10 years' experience driving staff car with senior officials
• Driver (BPS-09): 10 years' experience driving light/heavy vehicles in Govt./educational institution
• Driver (BPS-05): 02 years' experience driving light/heavy vehicles
• Naib Qasid: Experience of working in offices preferable
• Regional Director: 17 years' professional/administrative experience in Grade 17 or above
• Additional Regional Director: 12 years' research/professional/administrative experience in Grade 17 or above
• Deputy Regional Director: 05 years' experience in BPS-17 or equivalent
• Assistant Regional Director: Relevant experience preferred in Govt./Semi-Govt./Autonomous Body
• Assistant: Typing speed 30 wpm, 6 weeks IT training after induction
• Mali: 2 years' field experience in horticultural operation

Salary & Benefits

Salary will be as per the applicable BPS pay scale for each position, ranging from BPS-02 to BPS-20, along with standard government allowances and benefits.
