Education Requirements

Sr. 182 – Senior Registrar Medicine

  • MBBS or an equivalent medical qualification recognized by the Pakistan Medical Commission, and FCPS, MS, FRCS, MRCP, MD or Diplomat of American Board in the respective specialty, or an equivalent qualification recognized by the Pakistan Medical Commission.
  • If none is available with the above qualifications: MBBS plus FCPS/MS/FRCS/MRCP/MD/Diplomat of American Board (General Surgery or Medicine, whichever is relevant) with three years’ post-graduation practical experience in the respective specialty from a recognized institute.
  • PMDC/PMC registration showing the requisite qualification should be valid up to the closing date. If expired or being updated, proof of renewal must be applied for on or before the closing date.

Sr. 183 – Senior Registrar Paediatric Ophthalmology

  • MBBS or an equivalent qualification recognized by the Pakistan Medical & Dental Council, and registration with the council.
  • FCPS/M.S/FRCS/Diplomat American Board in Paediatric Ophthalmology or an equivalent qualification recognized by PMDC; OR the same qualification in Ophthalmology with one year of experience after post-graduation in Paediatric Ophthalmology in an institution recognized by PMDC.

Sr. 184 – Senior Registrar Cardiac Anesthesia

  • MBBS or an equivalent qualification from an institution recognized by the Pakistan Medical Commission.
  • FCPS in Cardiac Anesthesia, Diplomat American Board in Cardiac Anesthesia, FRCA with CST in Cardiac Anesthesia, or an equivalent qualification recognized by the Pakistan Medical Commission.
  • If none is available: FCPS in Anesthesia, Diplomat American Board in Anesthesia, FRCA or MS in Anesthesia, plus one year of practical experience in Cardiac Anesthesia.

Sr. 185 – Senior Registrar Paediatric Cardiology

  • MBBS or an equivalent qualification recognized by the Pakistan Medical Commission, and registration with the commission.
  • FCPS, MD, CCT or Diplomat American Board in Paediatric Cardiology or an equivalent qualification after post-graduation.
  • If none is available: FCPS (Paediatrics), MD (Paediatrics), MRCPCH or Diplomat American Board of Paediatrics with one year of experience in Paediatric Cardiology after post-graduation, gained in a training program accredited by a national or international body.
  • If still none is available: the same qualification with two years’ experience in Paediatric Cardiology after post-graduation.

Sr. 186 – Senior Registrar Surgery

  • MBBS or an equivalent medical qualification recognized by the Pakistan Medical Commission, and FCPS, MS, FRCS, MRCP, MD or Diplomat of American Board in the respective specialty, or an equivalent qualification.
  • If none is available: the same qualification in General Surgery or Medicine (whichever is relevant) with three years’ post-graduation practical experience in the respective specialty from a recognized institute.
